Norfolk County Courthouse Bell

In 1787 Revere built an iron and brass foundry in Boston's North End. In 1792 his foundry cast its first bell, the first cast in Boston. The Norfolk County Courthouse bell, smaller than the typical church bell, was produced in 1796. While the exact formulation of bronze varied depending on each bell maker's closely held secret, Revere was among those that added a little silver to the mix thinking it produced a sweeter sound.
