Bald Eagle
Juvenile, 3rd to 4th year, Northbridge, MA, 2/18/12
From the photos it could be seen that this bird had been banded with a silver band on the right leg and an orange band on the left. This information along with a higher resolution image taken by Bruce Degraaf was sent to Dr. Tom French of the Division of Fisheries and Wildlife's Natural Heritage & Endangered Species Program. He replied on 2/27/2012 with the following information.
"This bird is C/7 burnt orange (679-00638). This was one of two chicks banded in a nest in the back yard of a residential home near the Merrimack River, West Newbury, MA on June 10, 2008. So this is a nearly 4 year old bird."
